Daria Maglyovanaya

Born in Kirov in 1978.

1997:   graduated with honours degree from the Academic Music College under the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatoire where she studied viola with prof. Lyudmila Gushchina

2002:   graduated with honours degree from the Moscow Conservatoire where she studied with People’s Artist of Russia, prof. Alexander Galkovsky

2004:   finished historical chamber ensemble post graduate course with prof. Yury Martunov at the Moscow Conservatoire

Scholarship holder of the New Names charity fund in 1995-1996.

Participant of master-classes with prof. Anton Steck and prof. Christoph Mayer (2001, 2002, Karlsruhe, Germany; Internationale H?ndel-Akademie), of the Second Open Academy of Baroque Music – Baroque Opera Workshop (2012, St. Petersburg; under direction of Andrew Lawrence-King and Marco Beasley)

Performed with the Universal Youth Symphony orchestra under direction of L. Nikolaev (leader of viola group, 1994-1995). Participant of Moskovskoye Deistvo (2001, 2002) and Moscow Autumn (2005) festivals, Youth Festival of Russian Culture in France (Festival de jeune Art russe en France, 2005). Author of the “Assembly at the theatre foyer” project at the Russian Academic Youth theatre.

Performs regularly in collaboration with many famous musicians, among them Alexei Lubimov, Maria Uspenskaya, Alexei Shevchenko. Plays baroque viola with the Alta Capella ensemble (since 2009), the Questa Musica ensemble (artistic director – Philip Chizhevsky).
